Several construction and work machinery operators tend to omit filters during inspections. Are you the type? This is a big mistake, because their condition and quality directly contribute to the efficiency of the excavator and also to the safety and comfort in the cabin!

Types of filters in construction machines:

• Oil filter: its main task is to clean the engine and transmission oil. Thanks to it, we do not get dirt into the engine.
• Fuel filter: similar to the oil filter, but it traps dirt in the fuel.
• Air filter: cleans the air drawn into the engine.
• Hydraulic filter: ensures that the hydraulic oil is not contaminated and keeps dispersed particles and other impurities from the oil, thus contributing to the longer life of the entire hydraulic system.
• Cabin filter: ensures the correct air quality in the cabin.

Filters require regular replacement!

The impurities that hold the filters over time lead to a loss of their properties. Therefore, it is so important to replace these elements at appropriate intervals. How often should you do that? It depends on the type of filter. Of course, this cannot be said with absolute precision. It depends mainly on the frequency of use of the working machine, on the conditions in which you work with it and many other factors come into play. In layman's terms - filters should be replaced if we notice them clogged or dirty, don't underestimate it!

What can happen if we neglect the exchange?

Construction machines need effective filters to work properly. Operating a clogged excavator can have serious consequences. The most important thing is definitely to reduce the service life of individual components - especially the engine and hydraulic system. Negligence can also adversely affect the health of the operator. Checking their condition and mileage / operating hours should therefore be a mandatory part of any routine check.

What filters can we provide?

STETEX can provide complete filter sets for your machine! However, for identification, we need labels from the current filters that you have on the machine. If you can't read the filter label, try sending us the machine's VIN number and we'll try to specify the filters.
